Commissions

In recent years I have received commissions to write or arrange new music for Brighouse and Rastrick Band, Gavin Pritchard, Owen Farr, Middleton Band, Hammonds Band, Emley Band, Nicky Abkiewicz, Harmonia Brass Quintet and the Serenata Ladies’ Choir, amongst others, and welcome the opportunity to write music for any other groups that have a requirement for a new piece of music.

Rates are very reasonable, and I take great care to tailor a work to your specific requirements. Depending on the precise commission agreement, you can have sole rights to use or record your piece for a period of time. Bear in mind that music commissions can take quite a lot of time to complete, so if you have a specific event to mark or celebrate, make sure to start thinking about it in plenty of time.

Works can be anything from a couple of minutes to major pieces lasting much longer, and I am very interested in working with or around other art forms and creative artists – poetry, prose, video, static art, architecture and so on.

Get in touch to find out more – don’t worry, there’s no commitment, just a friendly chat! For the right project I can also help with an application for funding music commissions from arts funding bodies such as the Arts Council or the PRS for Music Foundation; see here for more details.
