My other career strand (and the one that has paid most of the bills!) has been in the print and design industry. Over the years I have done most jobs from running reel-fed high speed presses to managing a print and bind staff of over fifty people. One of the achievements I’m proudest of is setting up a design department from scratch training school and college leavers, with a comprehensive training programme that allowed many of them to go on to work as freelance designers or for large corporates.
As a result I’m passionate about good print and design (and equally passionate about bad); I offer advice and consultancy to individuals and businesses on how best to approach their own print and design needs, and am very happy to manage print and design projects. I also manage smaller scale web design projects, including e-commerce, and one of my most recent successes is building the iPrintPhoto web-to-print personalisation portal for River Digital. If you need a personalised photobook, calendar or a way of displaying your best photography or design work, please head over there and take a look!
Alternatively you are very welcome to get in touch for advice on print or design projects – I don’t charge for advice and can often suggest a better or more economical way to approach something that can save a whole load of time, money or aggravation – sometimes all three!
